With funding from a state of Michigan grant, MiCareerCompass was developed by TalentFirst and West Michigan Works! in partnership with leading West Michigan employers, community partners and educational institutions.

MiCareerCompass focuses on careers that offer a fast start into high-wage, high-demand roles. These include jobs that require credentials or certificates that can be completed in as little as 8-12 weeks for clinical, administrative or operational roles. We’ll continue to expand and add new careers, so check back often to see which new careers are available.

MiCareerCompass uses the technology platform of FutureFit AI to help you navigate pathways to careers that our employer partners have identified as among their biggest needs. MiCareerCompass will show you the clearest path to your chosen career — and how to continue stacking up experience to continue growing.

We’ve got that covered, too: Once you create your profile and start to explore MiCareerCompass, you will see how you can use the portal to request one-on-one career coaching, apply for assistance like housing or transportation, or learn how to sign up for tuition or training reimbursement.

One of the advantages of MiCareerCompass is that it creates a clear path from education to employment. Many of the opportunities highlighted by our employer partners require credentials that can be earned in as little as two months. At the same time, participants in MiCareerCompass can also explore long-term opportunities — so the journey upward can continue once you’re hired.
